Ingredients:
For the Steaks:
1½ lbs ground beef
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
For the Gravy:
2 tbsp butter

8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional: 2 tbsp heavy cream for extra richness
---
Instructions:
1. Make the patties:
In a large bowl, mix together all the steak ingredients. Form into 4–6 oval patties.
2. Brown the patties:
Heat a bit of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties on both sides until browned (about 3–4 minutes per side). Remove and set aside—they don’t need to be cooked through yet.
3. Make the gravy:
In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onions and mushrooms, cooking until softened and golden (about 6–8 minutes). Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute.
4. Add liquids:
Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring. Add Worcestershire and Dijon. Bring to a simmer until slightly thickened (3–5 minutes).
5. Simmer the steaks:
Return patties to the skillet. Cover and simmer over low heat for 15–20 minutes, or until cooked through. Stir in cream at the end if using.
6. Serve:
Spoon over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice. Garnish with parsley if you’re feeling fancy.
