Pie Crust Recipe



Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust Recipe

Ingredients:

1. 4 cups all-purpose flour

2. 1 3/4 cups shortening (like Crisco)

3. 3 tablespoons white sugar

4. 2 teaspoons salt


Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Gradually add sugar and mix well.

4. Sprinkle ice water (about 1/2 cup) over mixture, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough forms a ball.

5. Divide dough in half and shape into disks.

6. Wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

7. Roll out dough to fit pie dish.


Tips:

1. Keep ingredients cold.

2. Don't overmix.

3. Use ice water.
