🍇 Classic Blackberry Cobbler Recipe


Ingredients:


4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries


1 cup sugar (plus extra for topping)


1 cup all-purpose flour


1 cup milk


1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted


2 tsp baking powder


1/4 tsp salt


1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)


Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).


2. Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish or similar size.


3. In a mixing bowl, combine blackberries and 1/2 cup sugar. Let sit while you prepare the batter (this draws out the juices).


4. In another bowl, whisk together:


Flour


Remaining 1/2 cup sugar


Baking powder


Salt

5. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until a smooth batter forms.



6. Pour batter into the baking dish.



7. Spoon blackberries and juices evenly over the batter. Don’t stir—just let the batter rise around the berries as it bakes.



8. Sprinkle a little sugar on top for a golden, crisp finish.



9. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.


Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Pure Southern comfort! 🫐🍦
