🍫 3-Ingredient Turtle Candy with Pecans and Caramel
📝 Ingredients:
Pecan halves – about 1 to 1½ cups
Soft caramels – 20–24 pieces (like Kraft or Werther’s, unwrapped)
Chocolate chips or melting chocolate – about 1 cup (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
🍬 Instructions:
1. Arrange the Pecans
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, group 3–4 pecan halves together in a cluster (shaped like a turtle’s legs and head).
2. Add Caramel
Place one unwrapped caramel on top of each pecan cluster.
👉 Tip: Slightly flatten the caramels for better melting.
3. Melt and Assemble
Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 4–6 minutes, just until caramels soften.
Remove from oven and press the caramel gently so it sticks to the pecans.
Let cool slightly.
Melt the chocolate (in the microwave in 20-second bursts or over a double boiler) and spoon a little over each caramel cluster.
4. Chill & Serve
Let candies cool at room temperature or place in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to set.
Store in an airtight container at room temp or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
