🍍 Old-Fashioned Crockpot Ham with Pineapple & Brown Sugar
Ingredients:
- 1 (3–5 lb) fully cooked boneless ham (or spiral ham)
- 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1 cup pineapple juice (from a can or bottle – even better if you have pineapple chunks too!)
- Optional: pineapple rings or chunks for extra flavor
Instructions:
-
Prep the Crockpot: Lightly grease the bottom or use a liner for easy cleanup.
-
Add Brown Sugar: Spread about ½ cup of the brown sugar in the bottom of the crockpot.
-
Place the Ham: Set the ham cut-side down over the brown sugar. If it's spiral cut, gently separate a few slices to let the flavor seep in.
-
Pour the Juice: Slowly pour the pineapple juice all over the ham.
-
Top it Off: Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of brown sugar right over the top. You can press it in gently with your hands. Add pineapple rings or chunks if desired.
-
Cook Low & Slow: Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours, basting with the juices once or twice if you can. Ham should be heated through and sweetly glazed.
-
Serve: Let it rest a few minutes before slicing. Spoon that glorious glaze over each serving!
💡 Tip: If you like a crispier crust, you can transfer the ham to a baking sheet and broil it for 5 minutes after slow cooking—just to caramelize the top. But it’s divine right out of the crockpot too!
