Taco Salad




Taco Salad Recipe


Ingredients:


1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)


1 packet taco seasoning


1/2 cup water


1 head romaine lettuce, chopped


1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved


1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese


1/2 cup red onion, diced


1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed


1 cup corn (frozen and thawed or canned and drained)


1 avocado, diced


1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)


Crushed tortilla chips or Doritos (nacho cheese flavor works great!)


Sour cream, salsa, or ranch/taco sauce for topping

Instructions:


1. Brown the meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.



2. Add seasoning: Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes, until thickened. Let it cool slightly.



3. Assemble the salad: In a large bowl or on a platter, layer chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onion, black beans, corn, and avocado.



4. Add meat: Spoon the taco meat on top.



5. Top it off: Sprinkle with crushed chips, olives, and your choice of toppings like sour cream, salsa, or a drizzle of taco sauce or ranch.



6. Toss or serve layered: Serve immediately as a layered salad, or gently toss to combine everything.
