Big Apple Fritters Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon Apple Pie Spice (or a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice)
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
2 tablespoons melted butter
Oil for frying
Glaze:
1½ cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, vanilla, and melted butter. Stir to combine.
Gradually add wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. Fold in the diced apples.
2. Fry the Fritters
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
Drop heaping spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
Fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove and drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
3. Make the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
While fritters are still warm, dip or drizzle them with the glaze.
4. Serve & Enjoy!
Let the glaze set for a few minutes before digging in. Best enjoyed fresh!
These Big Apple Fritters are a perfect treat for breakfast or a snack.
