Brown Sugar Garlic Chicken
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup brown sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika (optional, for color)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
3. Sear the chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chicken and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from pan and set aside.
4. Make the sauce: In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the brown sugar and mix until melted and combined.
5. Coat the chicken: Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the brown sugar garlic sauce over the top.
6. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes (or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F).
7. Broil (optional) for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the top.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted veggies.
